Travelogues, Part Due

Thanks all for sharing in my trip and commiserating with my sad foreign language skills :-) Bron, look forward to seeing you at RWA and Toni, sadly, we wont be getting to Naples on this trip (or Rome or Florence, though I hope to someday.) What we have seen is lovely, even though yesterday minor tummy trouble kept me in the hotel room--where I watched Italian versions of The Runaway Bride, Tremors, and CSI :-) J thinks that perhaps I got a little too adventurous at an exotic cheese tasting, but I think it was just all the travel weirdness and excitement catching up to me.

Luckily, the hotel here is lovely--art everywhere and a beautiful marble shower (no weird, funky shower curtains that seem to attack you at so many hotels). I wish I'd known beforehand that European hotels only provide towels, not washcloths, and I would have packed some. But the true adjustment is that there's no ice in soft drinks--luckily, it only got seriously hot one afternoon.

The high point has been Il Duomo (the Cathedral in Italy) and I have like a bazillion pictures to upload--or maybe I'll just pick my favorite three or four--when I'm back on a high speed connection and real-sized keyboard. Today, I'm doing a ferry ride on the lake, but for the more adventurous, there's the "Como Flight School." Bron, take note :-) It's an amphibious plane that goes over the water and circles some villas, and the ride is supposed to be breathtaking.

Ciao!

Wow...stopped over to see what was new and find you in Italy. Lucky you! I just got back from an Arizona vacation. While it is a beautiful state the temperature was about 110 degrees each day and I thought I was melting. Unfortunately, no pool where I was staying. I have a beach not too far away from my house and I'm going to head over there this weekend. I could use a new tote bag and of course, I never think I have enough books to read. :)
