I have this friend who sends me bizarre forms of mindless entertainment, including, most recently the Dialecter. You can submit a webpage and have it "translated" into stuff like Pirate, Elmer Fudd, pig latin, drunken slurring, and all kinds of weirdness. (Yesterday, I tried it on my own blog in the voice of one of my favorite Muppet characters The Swedish Chef.) But because my friend (a brilliant, highly respected professional helping to run a university) and myself have the collective maturity of eight year olds when we start cracking each other up, our favorite option was not a dialect at all but "end a line."
Here in honor of Supernatural's season premiere last night, I shall demonstrate on unsuspecting Trish Milburn, fellow Supernatural fan and fellow Harlequin American Author (go buy her book! In stores now!). Luckily, even if she wants to smack me in the head for what I did to her blog, she has to reach all the way from Tennessee. (By the way, her blog only looks like that through the link. It's not like unwitting visitors see it that way. Don't kill me, Trish!)
Have some dialect fun for yourself! Everyone should start their weekend with a laugh.
