Well, both my sites (Tanya Michaels and Tanya Michna) are in the process of being not only updated but completely redesigned. Which, in the long run, should be great. In the short run, it's a time-sucking, head-beatingly-frustrating exercise in making me feel like an idiot because I can't figure out why a graphic shows up just fine one second, then decides to show up in some random place with text over top of it, not to mention there's suddenly a parrot in the picture who wasn't there before and he's giving me bunny ears. (It's possible I made that last part up.)
But since I haven't been able to load all the new book news, I thought--hey wait a sec, I have that blog just sitting dormant. Perhaps I should actually let readers know what I have coming up THERE. (Ha ha, HTML, take that--I'm not a complete idiot after all. I am, at worst, a partial idiot who's not getting enough sleep or caffeine.)
Some of you may be aware that I had a book in stores this month, a Harlequin American Romance titled A Dad for Her Twins about a single mom (of, you guessed it, twins) and her sexy if somewhat reclusive neighbor. I think it's still on shelves most places if you want to run out and get it. Go ahead, we'll wait for you here.
Then, in November, I am very excited about Mistletoe Baby. It's another Harl. American, one that's very special to me. It revisits the Waide family I introduced in a holiday novella last November ("Tanner & Baum" in THE PERFECT TREE) and it also kicks off my Four Seasons in Mistletoe Series, four very different stories all set in the same fictional community of Misltetoe, Georgia. If I may get personal for a moment, the married (but separated) hero and heroine had to endure something I myself struggled with: infertility. While the book is a work of fiction and by no means autobiographical, I've been there before and have my very own happy ending (2, actually!) and it was very satisfying to help Rachel and David find their way to happy ever after. Next up (in April) will be Mistletoe Cinderella, a lighter mistaken-identity romantic comedy with a fun heroine transformation and very sexy hero. Summer and fall Mistletoe books will follow in the second half of 2009, but we're still working out the titles.
Not to be outdone by Tanya Michaels, Tanya Michna has also been busy! My next women's fiction novel, Baggage Claim, will be out in May (and has a gorgeous cover) and I have an essay on Dean Winchester in the nonfiction collection In the Hunt (based on the television show Supernatural). Sadly, my paper has an actual thesis, supporting points and everything. They shot down my pictorial essay on why I think Dean is the sexier Winchester brother (but only just barely).
So, I should probably get back to work on editing, promoting and, you know, actually writing all that stuff. I leave you with this quote RT gave me for Mistletoe Baby:
"Tanya Michaels brings readers another incredible visit with the citizens of Misletoe...4 stars!"
